Supply chain management

Topic:

Value chains

Definition:

“SCM is primarily concerned with the way firms organize the flow of inputs and production resources from procurement through product manufacturing and distribution. The processes necessary to accomplish this flow effectively, efficiently and profitably are seen as a system – a chain with nodes that can exist both internally and externally to an organization.”
