A seed system project includes several phases: diagnosis, design, implementation, monitoring, and scenario analysis, as shown in the figure above. Each phase may require different types of information. The tools can play a role at different moments in the project cycle and can help to show changes in the seed system as the project moves from diagnosis, to design, implementation and monitoring. For scenario analysis, a modelling approach is usually followed.
